Privacy policy

A booking is only effective if the information provided is genuine and accurate. For a “Non-refundable” rate, the booking can only be validated after payment has been successfully collected.

Property-specific and rate-specific terms communicated at the time of booking take precedence where they differ from the general conditions below.

Check-in from 15:00 to 20:00. Check-out from 08:00 to 11:00.

To comply with legal guest registration and reporting obligations, the following may be required: first name and surname, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, identification document type and number, and issuing country. Statistical information is reported to INE where applicable; accommodation of foreign nationals is reported to UCFE through SIBA (Accommodation Bulletin Information System) where legally required.

Guests do not need to provide their address when booking. Providing a telephone number and email address is advisable. A Portuguese tax identification number (NIF) is optional for invoice amounts below €1,000, subject to applicable tax obligations.

Children are welcome. A cot is available for children up to 6 years old, with an additional charge to be determined at the time of booking. Children over 6 years old are treated as guests with all associated rights.

Cots can only be used in the “King Room with Spa Bath” and “Superior Double Room” room types.

Credit cards are accepted. Card details must be provided during online booking or in person at check-in, using the payment channels provided for that purpose. Do not send card details through the contact form or by email. No security deposit will be charged.

Wi-Fi internet throughout the property.

Free parking within the property, subject to reservation.

Smoking is not allowed. Pets are not allowed, without prejudice to statutory rights concerning assistance dogs. Parties and events are not allowed, nor may guests invite third parties to stay overnight.

A first-aid kit is available. A fire alarm system covers all rooms, including bedrooms; fire extinguishers are available on every floor and a fire blanket is provided in the kitchen.

Exterior CCTV covers the property perimeter and entrances. Interior CCTV is limited to the reception lobby and corridors leading to the bedrooms. Recordings are retained for 30 days, without prejudice to preservation where legally required.

No prepayment is required. Guests may cancel free of charge until 15:00 on the day before arrival. Cancellations after that time incur the full booking amount.

Guests must pay the full booking amount if they cancel at any time.

Guests may reschedule their stay to a future date, subject to availability of a room in the same category. Choosing a higher room category requires an additional payment.

No fees will be charged for accidental bookings cancelled within 24 hours of being made.

Santiago - Luxury Family Houses processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679) and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019 of 8 August. The confidentiality and protection of guest and visitor data are important to the brand.

Information provided through the forms — name, email, optional telephone number, property, optional dates and guest count, message and confirmation of reading the policy — is used to receive, review and respond to your enquiry. Do not use these forms to send identification documents or payment details.

During booking and your stay, information necessary to manage the booking, issue invoices and comply with legal obligations may be collected. Processing is based on pre-contractual steps, performance of a contract and applicable legal obligations. Where consent is required, it will be requested specifically and may be withdrawn. Simply browsing the website does not constitute consent to optional processing.

Enquiries submitted through the website are stored for review by the responsible team. Data may be processed by service providers supporting the website and enquiry management, with access limited to necessary purposes, or disclosed to public authorities when required by law.

Data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for applicable statutory retention periods. CCTV recordings follow the period stated in the Safety and security section.

Under applicable legislation, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or portability of your data, as well as object to processing and withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to services or legislation. We recommend reviewing it regularly. Changes do not remove the need to obtain new consent where legally required.
